Compared to other cells, the Parietal cell is
relatively larger than other cells and have secretory canaliculi, more mitochondria, and cytoplasmic tubulovesicles. These cells are located in the inside lining of the stomach, the category the cell falls under is epithelial. The function of the Parietal cell is to produce large quantities of acid at high concentrations, for it is used to break down food in the stomach, it also
releases enzymes that
regulate receptors on the cell to control the amount of acid secreted and when the acid should be secreted.
